I have changed the way I look at realistic painting.  For many years I painted what I saw.  Now I attempt to suggest the reality of everyday living.

Our everyday lives have an element of the unexpected: nothing is completely predictable. Therefore in my paintings I often add a surprising element to a completely ordinary subject.  In this way I hope to create work that more closely mirrors the richness and variety of the real world.
